Area Police
Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then located many other marked cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police report initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; investigators are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.
Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for details.
An important official said the incident made him speechless and had to be resolved promptly.
"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the death of nine victims by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
